The Britax Are Coming!

As we mentioned in an earlier post, we now carry Britax car seats. The car seats will be arriving in the store this Wednesday. Britax is a leader in car seat safety and is praised by just about every consumer safety report and mom and dad out there, and for good reason! If your not familiar with the Britax line, here is a quick lesson in the car seats we now carry.

The Britax Chaperone is an infant car seat for babies weighing 4-30 lbs and up to 32" tall. The Chaperone features superior ease of use, an ergonomic carry handle designed to contour to your forearm and body, and an extra large canopy to block wind, rain and harmful UV rays from baby's sensitive skin. The Chaperone is compatible with the Peg Perego Pliko P3, Maclaren Techno XLR and the Bob Revolution strollers.

The Britax Advocate CS is for rear facing infants 5-35 lbs and for forward facing toddlers at least 1 year old and up to 65 lbs. The Britax Advocate CS Car Seat includes the all new Side Impact Cushion Technology. These patented exterior energy-management cushions compress upon impact to protect both the child and adjacent passengers in the event of a side impact crash. This compression provides an increased level of side impact protection.

The Britax Advocate CS features revolutionary Side Impact air cushions. Britax designed the cushions to manage the crash forces by compressing upon impact while safely expelling air through strategically positioned vents. The air cushions both add protection to the Advocate CS passenger and for others who may be riding along next to the Advocate.

The CS stands for Click & Safe. The Click & Safe harness prevents one of the most common car seat misuses: inadequately tightened harness straps. With Britax CS technology, you pull until you hear two clicks; the clicks let you know that the straps are just right.

The Britax Marathon is a convertible car seat ideal for parents seeking premium comfort and a higher, forward-facing harnessed weight capacity. The tangle-free, five-point harness with four harness heights ensures a snug and secure fit. Premium push-button LATCH connectors provide a quick, simple and tight installation. Unique features include the patented Versa-Tether® for energy management, and rear- and forward-facing recline for child comfort and positioning.

The Marathon fits children rear facing from 5 to 35 pounds and children forward facing from at least one year old and 20 pounds, up to 65 pounds. The Marathon is made in the USA with U.S. and global components.

The Britax Marathon CS Convertible Car Seat includes all the great safety features of the Marathon with the added Click & Safe Snug Harness Indicator. The convertible car seat features side impact protection that distributes crash forces, shields from vehicle intrusion, and contains the head, neck, and body.

The Marathon CS is used rear-facing from 5-35 lbs. and forward-facing for toddlers at least one year old and 20 to 65 lbs. This seat features a higher forward-facing seat capacity for safety and comfort as your toddler grows.

The Britax Roundabout is the most popular Britax car seat and the top rated convertible car seat in Consumer Reports. The Roundabout is packed with innovative safety solutions. Whether your car is LATCH compatible or not, the Roundabout is made to be installed correctly every time. This translates into a safer seat for your child. It will take a bit of practice, but you will get it down in no time.

Trying to decide between the Britax Roundabout and Britax Marathon? Just think of the Roundabout as the little sister of the Britax Marathon. The Marathon is identical in all comfort and convenience features but has a higher weight maximum, and is therefore larger than the Roundabout. The Britax Marathon will still fit in alomst every vehicle type in the forward-facing position, but may be too large to be installed rear-facing in smaller back seats.

If you are still unsure of which car seat will best suit your needs you can read more about each car seat on our website. Also, feel free to stop in the store, where you can see, feel and test out each seat for yourself.
